1. Build a High Authority Website & Drive Lots of Traffic From Google Search
There’s an old saying “you can’t fake authority”, and that really holds true. If you build a site that has a ton of authority, it doesn’t matter if it gets hundreds of crappy backlinks, it still becomes authoritative.
Think of authority sites as websites that have been featured on industry leading blogs and online news sources.
When search engines visit your site, they see that you have tons of quality content, links pointing to your site/pages, and other indicators that show you have significant authority within your niche.
Authority sites tend to rank better than normal sites, so traffic starts flowing naturally from search results.
What makes the difference between a.gov domain name and a.com domain name? Nothing. They both are completely legitimate. But, an a.gov domain name can give you the same authority as a domain name ending in.com.
Here’s how it works…
I built a legit blog using WordPress. Within 3 days, I had over 1 million organic visitors. Then I installed the Yoast SEO plugin. That was it.
After installing Yoast, I added pages to my site and started adding articles to each page.
Then I went to Google Webmaster Tools and submitted my site to Google. Once that was done, I created my first backlink profile using Majestic Backlinks.
Within 2 weeks, I saw tens of thousands of unique visitors to my site. And guess what? Those visitors were all from Google searches.
How did I do this? By building a high authority website with tons of information and links pointing directly to my site.
My site ended up ranking higher than most websites with millions of monthly visits. At that point, everything snowballed from there. I started seeing steady growth in traffic and conversion rates.
Now I’m sharing my secrets with you so you too can get free traffic in 2018.
A couple of years ago, I made $50K+ per month from my site. Today I make double that amount, thanks to Yoast SEO. It's truly amazing.
2. Create a Killer Author Bio
Once you've built a high-authority website, the next step is to write killer bio's for yourself and your products.
For example, let's say you sell eBooks and other digital downloads.
Instead of writing a generic author bio for your eBook, you should come up with something catchy and specific to your target audience.
In my case, I wrote a bio that focused on SEO and helped people save money on Amazon affiliate commissions.
Instead of writing one general bio for all my books, I came up with 10 different ones based on different topics and niches.
By doing this, I boosted conversions for my books since readers found me easier to contact via email.
Plus, I managed to get a lot of free marketing exposure on social media.
Get creative with your bio's and use them across platforms. For example, you could add an image thumbnail of your book cover to your Twitter bio. Or maybe include a link to your Facebook fanpage or Instagram account.
These little touches go a long way toward boosting conversions.
3. Write Articles With Long Title Tags
Long title tags are a vital part of SEO. The longer the title tag, the better chance your web page has at showing up in the SERPs.
However, there's a limit to how much text you can stuff into a title tag. A good rule of thumb is to keep your title tag under 100 characters.
Remember, title tags are displayed above links in SERPS, so any spaces after words in your title tag will appear as empty spaces.
That means if you're trying to cram several keywords into your title tag, you need to remove extra whitespace. One way to do this is to use a program called Whitespace Cleaner.
Whitespace Cleaner allows you to highlight areas where whitespace appears in the middle of a sentence. You then select "Replace" and hit enter.
As soon as you press enter, the program removes all unnecessary white space and creates brand new paragraphs.
It's important to note that if you accidentally click Enter twice, you may end up creating duplicate paragraphs, which is bad for SEO. So try to avoid pressing enter multiple times unless you want duplicates.
Once you've removed the extra whitespace, copy and paste the cleaned text into your post editor and save. Now go back to the beginning of your title tag and cut out some of the extra whitespaces before pasting it into your title tag again. Repeat until you reach the desired length.
4. Use Visual Content to Increase Engagement & Conversions
One thing that often confuses bloggers is whether they should use images or videos instead of plain text. Some people prefer images because they think they make a better visual impact, but others argue that text is more engaging.
Personally, I believe that text and images work hand-in-hand. However, I know many people who struggle with the balance between text and visuals.
The truth is that the type of content you publish depends on your goals and objectives.
For example, if you want to increase engagement and boost conversions, then you should definitely focus on text. However, if you just want to promote your business, then go ahead and promote your business using images.
Most people are familiar with basic types of images such as logos, banners, and icons.
But there are dozens of different types of images available today. Here are three essential types of images you should create for your posts:
Animated GIFs - These images are perfect for promoting products and services. They have a short lifespan, so you don't need to worry about hosting costs. Plus, they look great on social media sites like Facebook and Twitter.
Video Thumbnails - This is one of my favorite ways to promote products and services. It's easy to set up and doesn't require too much time or effort. Just upload a video thumbnail from YouTube or Vimeo and add a description.
Infographics - Infographics are another great way to promote products and services online. They're visually appealing and help users understand complex concepts quickly.
So what kind of image would be best for each situation? That's something only you can decide. But here are two tips to get you started:
If you want to drive traffic to your website, then use animated GIFs.
If you want to build trust and authority, then use infographics.
5. Create an Email List
Email marketing has been around forever, but it wasn't always considered "the most effective" form of digital advertising.
However, things have changed over the years. Today, email marketing is still one of the most powerful forms of digital advertising.
In fact, according to HubSpot, email marketing generates nearly 40% of all sales leads.
And even though email marketing isn't as popular as other forms of digital advertising, it's still very effective.
Why? Because it works. People love getting emails from brands they already know and trust. And when they receive those emails, they tend to open them and read them right away.
Plus, email marketing allows you to target specific audiences based on their interests. So if you're looking to sell a product or service, this is a great way to do it.
Here are some reasons why you should start building an email list:
You'll generate more sales leads.
Your customers will feel more connected to you.
It's easier than ever to collect email addresses.
Plus, you can use these lists for future campaigns.
To sum it up, email marketing is one of the easiest ways to grow your audience and increase brand awareness.
6. Start Building Relationships With Influencers
When it comes to growing your audience and increasing brand awareness, influencer marketing is one of the best strategies out there.
This strategy involves reaching out to influential bloggers and content creators who share similar values and beliefs.
These influencers can help spread your message by sharing your content on their own blogs and social media accounts.
This is also known as guest posting. You can find influencers through Google searches, forums, and directories.
Once you've found someone who shares your values and believes in your business, reach out to them via LinkedIn, Instagram, or any other platform that makes sense for you.
The key is to make sure that you're genuine and not spammy. Once you establish a good relationship with the influencer, he or she might feature your content on his or her blog or social media account.
In return, you can offer him or her free products, discounts, or anything else that could benefit both parties.
7. Use Video Marketing
Video marketing is becoming increasingly important for businesses. This is because people spend more time watching videos than reading text-based articles.
According to BrightEdge, video views increased by 300% between 2013 and 2014.
That means that more and more people are using video to learn about new products and services.
As a result, video marketing is now a major part of many companies digital marketing strategies.
There are several different types of video marketing, including:
- Product demos
- How-to guides
- Educational tutorials
- Sales pitches
- Promotional videos
- Live streams
For example, if you run a beauty salon, you could create a vlog where you talk about how to properly care for hair. Or, you could create a tutorial on how to apply makeup.
If you want to get started with video marketing, here are some tips to keep in mind:
Start slow. Don't try to produce high quality videos all at once. Instead, focus on creating 1-2 videos per week.
Make sure your videos have a clear call to action. If you're trying to promote a sale, include a link within the description box.
Use a professional camera. A DSLR camera is ideal for recording videos. However, most smartphones come equipped with decent cameras too.
Don't forget to add subtitles. People will appreciate hearing what you say even when they don't understand English.
Don't forget to optimize your videos. Include keywords in the title, description, and tags so that viewers can easily find your videos.
You can also use tools like Hootsuite and Buffer to schedule posts ahead of time. These apps allow you to manage multiple social media profiles from one dashboard.
